The first week of September we weaned a really uniforn group of 148 bull calves. After 2 weeks we selected 70 bulls to put in our new develpement pens where they will remain until sale day, March 31, 2012. Our new pens have plenty of space for excerise, new fenceline bunks and we are eager to show them off when you get a chance to stop and look at the bulls. They are a super set of structurally correct bulls with moderate birth weights with explosive growth and one of the best cows herds in the country backing them up. This is without a doubt our stoutest set of bulls yet, they have really grown since weaning and I should have some pictures up by the middle of October. Some of our standouts are sired by WBF DIRECTION W143, WBF DOCTOR W039, WOODHILL BREAK THRU W142 and CONNEALY FRANCHISE 5333. Again this year there are a few WBF TITAN U109 bulls that look outstanding. We also have some THSR BOMBARDIER bulls that are going to be sure fire heifer bulls but still have plenty of power behind them.
We would love to show them off anytime you are in the area, just stop by because there is always time to talk cattle!

Decemebr update, the bulls have really hit a growth curve in the last few weeks, and are starting to look like real herd sires. We will hopefully get pictures on them right after Denver or by the first of February. Mike Stannick is scheduled to ultrasound on February 15 and I will have results up shortly after that.
On the 24 th of August Marty Ropp was at the farm for a marketing field day with our local vet clinic. We started with 124 bull calves and when we finished sorting we put 50 young herd sires in the bull development pastures where they will stay until bull sale day next April 9th, 2011.
The bulls have done extremely well since weaning, some of the standout sire groups are NLC STETSON 36S, GW DOUBLE YOUR LUCK 110T, GLS COMBINATION, RDDS F. DRCTN 2254S, WBF WIDE DESIGN P019, WBF WIDE PRIME R061 AND CONNEALY FRANCHISE.

We worked all the calves the week of July 19th by giving all of their preweaning shots. The calves look great and we cant wait to show them off once we get them weaned!
Some of the sire groups that will make the bull pen are, GW Lucky Deuce, NLC STETSON, Aces Of Fortune, WBF TITAN, Mo BETTER, HOOKS PACESETTER, GLS COMBINATION, RDDS F DRCTN 2254S, RDDS FTR PROTO 2213R, OCC PROTOTYPE, CONNEALY FRANCHISE, WBF WIDE PRIME.
We will be weaning the 11th-14 of August and then sorting bulls shortly after that, I hope to have some more pictures up by the first of september.
